HLTAID002 - Provide basic emergency life support

This course provides training on how to respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures. With this course you will be able to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to provide first aid response, life support, and management of casualty, the incident and other first aid until the arrival of medical assistance. It also includes CPR.

Qualification: On successful completion of the course, learners are issued with a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited course HLTAID002  PROVIDE BASIC EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT AND PROVIDE CPR HLTAID001

Certificates are valid for 3 years. However the Australian resuscitation council recommends that the CPR component requiries updating every 12 months.

Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements however learners should have language, literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to Australian Core Skills Framework Level 1. This requires a candidate to be able to verbally communicate incident details as well as be able to provide accurate written report of an incident. Students should be able to perform CPR on the floor.

Course Duration: 5 to 7 hours depending on class size. Pre-course needed prior to attendance
